Lisbon may be the capital, but Portugal spiritual core has to be found a hundred kilometers up north, in an imaginary county trimmed by the towns of Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos. In this ‘Magical Tour’ we depart from Lisbon towards the Sanctuary of Fátima to dive into the mysteries of faith and its local avatars, from the intimate Chapel of the Revelations to the monumental basilica church of the Holy Trinity. Next we head up to the Monastery of the Battle, masterpiece of the late portuguese gothic, and the coastal town of Nazaré, a vintage fishing village most recently acknowledged as one of the best surf destinations in the world. We finally reach the fortified hilltop town of Óbidos, a remarkably well preserved stronghold of medieval Portugal, today reborn as an open air museum and stage of a dozen cultural events.
